Counselling
ACA-Registered Counsellor
I hold a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, and registration with the Australian Counselling Association.
My counselling approach is person-centred and strengths-focused, creating a supportive space where you feel welcomed and understood.
Together, we can explore your strengths and values, as well as the social, political and environmental influences affecting your life.
My counselling practice is inclusive, and queer- and neuro-affirming, always.
I work integratively, using techniques from a range of modalities including:
Rogerian/Person-Centered Therapy (PCT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT),
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Power Threat Meaning Framework (PTMF),
Narrative Therapy
Nature Therapy
and more!
I view counselling as collaborative and conversational; the client is the expert in their own life, and I am lucky to co-author a chapter!

Topics of Interest
We can discuss any topic in counselling. Some of my favourite things to work on with clients include:
-
Gender is a major component of identity. I support individuals, couples and families with topics like:
Questioning your gender
Gender transition
Gendered presentation
Transphobia and discrimination
Trans joy and gender euphoria
-
Disability and chronic illness present unique challenges in life. As a person with disability, I can relate to the grief, pain and anxiety that can come along with a new diagnosis or a worsening of symptoms.
I don’t treat these topics with “toxic positivity”, and I don’t ignore the ways that society contributes to our status as disabled.
I offer compassion, and a place to be truly heard, along with practical tools and resources.
-
It can be so much easier to speak with a peer. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know many of us feel safest being vulnerable with our fellow queers.
I create a space that acknowledges, accepts, and celebrates who you are. Where you feel comfortable discussing topics of gender, sexuality, and relationships, without judgement.
-
There are many ways of being neurodivergent. The term “neurodivergence” gives us a different way of thinking and identifying, which doesn’t pathologise difference.
As a neurodivergent person, I know how much more at ease I often feel around fellow “NDs”. I know how empowering it can be to understand ourselves better, and to find our community.
My counselling practice is intentionally neuro-affirming. I make sensory and communications accommodations in my work, and I’m always open to learning more. It’s my goal to make counselling an inclusive environment for everyone.
-
It can be hard to find a counsellor who understands non-monogamy, polyamory, relationship anarchy, and other unconventional relationship structures.
I offer a supportive space to discuss your relationships. The challenges of a non-monogamous relationship can be unique; it’s important to feel understood, without mono-normativity and judgement impacting your counselling experience.
-
Major change can create some of the hardest times in our lives.
Starting or finishing education, getting married or divorced, changing careers, or relocating can be shake-ups that leave us feeling vulnerable.
Having a counsellor on your team during these times can make all the difference. It’s my privilege to support clients through all kinds of changes and transitions.
