NDIS Services Available

I offer a range of services for NDIS participants.

As a participant myself, I have experience navigating the NDIS system.

I know it can be overwhelming and confusing, and that finding affirming, inclusive providers can be a huge task.

Read on below to find out more about my Psychosocial Recovery Coaching, Counselling, & Mental Health Support Work.

  • To access Psychosocial Recovery Coaching, your plan must have funding under “Capacity Building - Support Coordination”.

A Psychosocial Recovery Coach helps you to understand your strengths and goals, navigate the NDIS, and build plans and routines that align with your values and needs.

Along with being a qualified, ACA-registered counsellor, I am a lived-experience Psychosocial Recovery Coach; meaning that I have experienced the impacts of mental illness, and the recovery process.

I work in a way that is neuro-affirming, acknowledging the systems and culture that we live in, and their effect upon mental wellbeing.

Psychosocial recovery coaching can look like:

    • supporting you to understand your NDIS plan, and what it covers

    • helping you to find the right services and professionals; including allied health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, etc.), and other supports

    • getting to know you, your goals and your preferences

    • talking; at your home, on the phone, via email, or out in the community

    • finding ways to modify your routines and environment to better suit your needs and goals

    • understanding how the NDIS can work for you

    • imagining the possibilities for the future

Psychosocial recovery coaching can be done remotely (via Zoom, phone calls and emails), or in-person (at your home or another location).

If you would like to work with me as your Psychosocial Recovery Coach, please contact me.

  • Mental Health Support Work is covered under the “Core” category of most NDIS plans.

The purpose of mental health support work is to assist you with daily life, to do the things you would be doing, if not for the barriers you face due to psychosocial disability.

This means that Mental Health Support Work can cover a huge range of activities. The most important thing is what you want: your goals, preferences, and priorities.

    This support could look like:

    • Support at home: body-doubling for chores and home tasks; assistance with organisation

    • Transport: to appointments, events, exercise, shops and more

    • Support in challenging environments and situations, including appointments, phone-calls

    • Social connection: chatting, doing your favourite activities, and getting to know you

    • Support towards your goals

    • Creative support: carving out time to do your creative pursuits; modifying your space, tools or routine to suit your needs; connecting with creative professionals, spaces and services

    • Joyful movement: assistance with prescribed movement (such as physio routines); walking or hiking in natural environments; finding local spaces for exercise

    • Wellbeing activities, such as stress management techniques, meditation, mindfulness

    • Assistance with administrative tasks, such as paperwork, research, enquiries

    • Errands and general assistance; taking some stressors off your plate!

Mental Health Support Work can be done face-to-face (in your home or another location), or remotely via Zoom, phone and email.

If you would like to work with me, or to find out more, please contact me.
